July 2, 2010 – The Orthodontist

An unplanned heavy travel day, but a good one. Holly had an early appointment with her Orthodontist, and we saw him in Silverton today. Holly will be free of braces July 15th, a project coming to a long awaited end. We left here at nine this morning, got to visiting and ended up touring a portion of the valley north of Salem before arriving in Silverton at 1pm. Had lunch went to Walmart and met Sharron there on her way to Mikes house. We then got out of Salem and headed back to our campground ahead of the evening rush. In driving through Cloverdale, we observed that three buildings with a common wall burned, not terribly surprising, but what was unusual was that one building was the admin office for the fire department, and the other was the fire house. (Looks as though they had a bad day.)  Pacific City is a parking lot today, lots of people everywhere, the campground is packed with people and kids everywhere having a good time. We were planning to stop in on Dad, but time was not in our best interest, so we lost out on that stop
