Grocery day today, so off to Berlin. Why Berlin? They have a Walmart of course. The Walmart in Berlin was different than most, as the product selection was more from the local area. Walmart also has a great mountain view. Speaking of the mountains, at least 9 of them are named after dead presidents.
September 3, 2010 – Berlin
We were going to go to Mount Washington State park today, but we just did not feel that rich! The park had a $4.00 per person entrance fee, then a $23.00 a car road fee plus $8.00 per person after that, and metered parking. This one park would have set us back $63.00 plus parking, plus a $5.00 out of state penalty (We left the State park and decided the New Hampshire residents could keep it!). We decided to checkout the National Parks, and were rewarded handsomely. With My access pass, the entire national Forrest minus the main attractions such as Mount Washington State Park are ours at no cost. So today we walked along a beautiful water fall Glenn Ellis Falls. The walk was too rough for me, only a .3 mile walk, but it was steep on 150 beautiful hand carved stone steps. So we had a good trip in the woods in spite of New Hampshire. The Feds came through! Without my access pass, the federal fee is only $5 a week.
Two interesting things to note: Snow Skiing and the View Master were invented in this area.
Have a good evening and a good night… No more to say, the kids wore me out!
