Slow day on the Isle

September 12, 2010 – Slow day on the Isle

A Place to be

After school, we drove out to the light house at Bass Harbor. The first sign to the light house said “Bass Harbor Head Light next left” We had never heard of a light house being referred to as the “Head Light”, but that is the only weird sign. When we got to the light house, we found it was Mt. Dessert Islands red light district, lit by the red light in the light house that illuminates 13 miles of sea. The light house is very short in stature, but in a pretty setting. Our Next Stop was the top of Cadillac Mountain at a stunning height of 1500 feet above see level. Since everything else here is lower in elevation, the view was astounding. Not like Pikes Peak, but great in its own right. The day was ended with chicken stuff and french fries from a bag that came from Walmart, and Sarah playing piano for our dinner music, which greatly improved the ambiance of the RV.

Have a good Evening, and a Good Night….
