The Nixon library is located in Yorba Linda California, which is a short distance from Anaheim, which is a short distance from Los Angeles California, which is a short distance from the Pacific Ocean. Visit this library before you visit the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. If you have young kids under about 15, skip this library all together unless they really know their history. The Reagan Library has a lot of interactive exhibits and is better suited to young learners.
The Nixon Library though very good, just does not live up to the Reagan Library in any way, so if you can only see one Library, go to the Reagan Library. Now if you can see both, there is a lot of great history at the Nixon Library, and it was a real eye opener for us young adults who were not yet following Nixon when he was in office. The country was in a lot of turmoil, both at home and abroad. The American people needed a hero, and they got Nixon. The library does a great job of exploring the people’s sentiment at the time, and how a great Christian man of the Quaker faith, came to his end as a President. If your like us, and can’t remember the Nixon era due to age, (or other reasons that we do not want to know), pick up this book before you visit the Library, it will help you to understand what you are looking at.
