In the recent past, we moved from Bend / Sunriver Thousand Trail’s to Whalers Rest Thousand trails in South Jetty, Oregon. We picked up Athena’s mom at the Hwy 34 truck stop where Hwy 34 and I-5 meet. Other than that, the trip was uneventful. We also got word that Uncle Fred passed away in Coquille, Oregon. They had a service for him a few miles south of there. It was a nice military honor guard service. We had a nice gathering with my Aunt Pat and many other family members that we have not seen in too long. Fred will be missed, he was really good to me, and would let me talk his ear off, and listened like I mattered from the time I was a little child and through my adult years. That takes a real man. Sorry I was late dropping by this summer. Those who read this and are near by, support Aunt Pat and my cousins, we love them dearly.
After the funeral, Athena and I had to get back up North as we had left my mother-in-law in Newport with the kids at the rig. As were headed up the coast I stopped and took Athena for a walk in the woods in the general area where I took her the day I proposed to her just over 20 years ago. Today, was a bit more somber than that day, but I wanted her to know that I remember that day, love her, and value her by my side more so each and every day that our marriage progresses.

Have a good evening and a good night. Pray we blog more often and write less, and don’t forget to save for a “Dot Matrix”
