Sitting at camp the last few days, wondering what the kids an I would do for Mothers Day. The temperature has gone ballistic, and it is hanging right at 100 degrees. So I thought I would do what any red blooded American man would do, and take my family to the beach, by way of the the Crystal Cathedral in Costa Mesa. Service starts at 7:45 am, and we are 66 miles away in Menifee California. As the clock above, would indicate, we woke up a shade late. So as usual, we would just go to the beach. The cars are stuck, and we only get to drive an average of 25 mhp the whole day! We had a route planned that would cover 178 miles. From here to 91, to 51, 101, 74, 15 and back again. We were going head from Huntington Beach to Carlsbad. But I can’t drive 55!Here in LA everyone including “Hello Kitty” is armed and dangerous. We know we gotta be pack’n if we wanna fit in. Traffic is running slow maybe in June it will be moving againCool, the largest restaurant we ever saw. Looks like it was painted by Mattel.
We found a bank. This is where they extract payment from those who have run out of money. Who knew that fillings could be used as collateral? We made it to San Clemente State Beach Holly got all eco friendly all the sudden and hated the beach. There were too many trains, planes, and cafe’s on the beach. How one could complain about food and diesel powered objects was really beyond me. The real test of ones courage was to walk across this beach with out stepping on a half naked stranger. There are big houses on the cliff. Too big for one family, but we did not see anyone around offering to share all that extra space with us. That’s ok though, the cafe sells ice cream.
Sarah watches the OceanHolly texts JohnBig diesel thing on the sand. How cools it that?Holly posing for the cameraDid I mention they have Ice Cream here at the beach? Finally something we all agree on. But they were out!!!!!!! Ouch!!!!!!That’s a problem a good ride on a found rope swing would cure.Back at home, I nap with the camera and take random picturesHolly poses with the steak I made. That, is some great looking steak!
Sarah made a mothers day cake. The sprinkles look like bacon. Guess she thought there was not enough protein in the steak.
No matter, Margie took Athena, Myself , Sarah and Faith the IKEA.The kids seemed interested in learning about how to arrange shelves.
Learning how to arrange the floral department for dramatic effectMargie and Athena giving their thumbs a work out while talking. Who needs ASL when you can text?Holly having a consultation with her hair dresser from “Orange County” (Said with a slight British accent and a nasal voice for dramatic effect.)His dedicated assistant Amber is carefully wrapping the dye solution in a water tight seal around her head using plastic wrap!Mason, is carefully supervising the entire process to make sure everything stays Kosher and and final product is totally righteousIt worked! Kool Aid can be used as dramatic hair dye, and smell delicious too!The kids hit the pool, but need careful supervisionMean while I check on Kool Aid girl and the small kids. We now have several families in one spot. We old people end up visiting a lot!Shoot, I told every one not to turn their back on these girls. Now look what happened! We were only a way for a minute. More ice cream for me I guess….No one here looks worried, should I tell them? Nah, I need the Ice cream.Athena got a her first pedicureHolly got a pedicureThe pedicurist, did Holly’s feet and head! How often does a pedicure include both ends?Camp fire time. I don’t think everyone was pleased with the automatic flash.Holly is watching her kidsCedar, the littlest one has a birthday, so we all get together and celebrate it for her
Cedar says “Thank You” with a high fiveThe kids ham it upWe head to Canyon Lakes to see the Fiesta days celebration.
Just in case some one is planning to buy Athena and I gift, the yellow viper would do just nice 🙂Mans got to dig those Taco Bell Hats. Those are going to be all the rage. I can see it now, every girl and boy across America will have one. The hats will probably actually be used as camouflage for the military marching bands participating in the the next civil war that takes place in a lemon grove.
Some of the golf carts in this community get fancy!Guess what! If you have not noticed roller skating is back, and rinks are opening like crazy.Haily hand her dad a trinket as she walks the routeOur group throwing out donuts. The yellow golf cart is awesome!Part two of our groupTwo car loads of people can sure toss a lot of donuts. We got hit with 6 packs at one time. Logan has a real good arm!Parades over, and we all drive to the fair. Good thing these people are all used to being stuck in traffic. At the fair, they have a card board boat race. These little girls are stealing the lead
This little guy claims first placeThey finished in third placeWaiting for the water skiing competitionTheir selling a cool product, but I would not lay it across my car, let alone that one. Some of the houses around the lake are big. I would not want one unless it came with servants and a GPS. These houses are too big for one many to maintain, and one would certainly need a GPS to get from the garage to his bedroom.Remove the stairs and install machine guns in the round room, and this castle might just be defensible. I wonder if a couple divorced, if they could still live in the same house and never cross paths? One of the few skiing contestants still on the ski when the boat passed. I think the boat needed to get on plain before real skiing could work out. The speed limit is too low for a skiing competition it appears.
These guys managed to carry the flags for us.Water skier on a stickJohnny pictured on the right won two second prizes for making good Salsa. He won a price for hot salsa and one for sweet salsa.Faith played on the ABC Bounce company bounce houses, and with her paid admission was entered in a Raffle to win the a new bike. Here she is getting her picture taken by ABC with her new bike.If all goes according to plan tomorrow. Rolling shoe Box will be in another city that might be near you. Pray your community will not be next. Good evening and a good night….
