16 Feb 2015 Augusts 23, 2012 – Still on the Oregon Coast in Pacific City by athena | posted in: Oregon | 0 Still in Pacific City nestled in the trees, enjoying the fresh ocean breeze, but safely hidden on the hill away from the potential tidal waves, satisfying my Cymophobia. Our resting place in Pacific City Thousand Trails No ocean view this time, but it is a very short hike to the beach. On Arrival, Athena says lets walk to the lodge. It turns out it is only 4 miles down the stairs. Across a bridge, and you don’t even want to know about the stair case going back up! and the next thing I remember is finding my self in the middle of the Enchanted Forest with My family and the Raymond family. Looks as though they have tricked the kids into being eaten by a witch. If I don’t stay in the game, there is not telling what these people will try to get away with. Feeding children to a stoned witch, is well, just wrong! Well, circumstances were not as dire as I had supposed, and the kids are having a great time. After watching the children on the slide, we walked into the western town. This sign meant a great deal to me, as being the second fastest draw is one of my greatest fears in life. It does keep one motivated to keep going to church however Speaking of the being the fastest draw, Sarah and Seth are working hard to make sure that never happens to them. With keen eye, and a steady hand, Seth shows us how it is done. Not without parental supervision. Of course! Moving away from guns and ammo, to safer topics, such as boating. Seth pilots his tug boat all around the pool. This boat driving thing is harder than it looks. Sarah though, can’t be out done by a boy… Livin’ life on the wild side, Seth and Sarah take on the mill, and take a ride as it makes its journey to curing pond.. Looks like the are happy to be here. Holly and Grace are riding on the wild side too, and as always they end with a splash! This was great fun, but can we like, try the bumper boats next time? Of course, you can go on the bumper boats. Grace and Loren, are having a good time. I am not sure, but this bordering on aggressive driving! Today, August 13th, was Holly’s actual Birthday, so when we got home we built a match stick structure on some Frosted cake. August 17th Zella has all her kids and grand kids over to the beach at Lincoln City. We joined them for a few hours. They were glad to see us come and see us go. I took this photo from the deck, the trip to the beach was too steep for me. They are all looking at something, but I can’t hear what it might be. Some of them came back to the house from the beach to visit and do puzzles. Dad, has always been a little short of hair, so Holly decided to help out. I think he would look very Oregonian in long blond hair. Dad told us he was retired, but I found out, that he actually has a job. This is his office, I know it to be so, his name is on the door. Working here, must also mean he knows Spanish. What else is Dad not telling us? He is not the only one working in a laundry mat. You know, if you mouth off enough, someone will eventually try to kill you. Athena met a new friend Kimber, who has two girls the same age as our girls. These two conspired to commit a crime. That is to get me to walk up the Pacific City dune with them. Appealing to a mans pride rarely fails. Athena towed me up about a a quarter of the distance, I got too tired and told her to continue on. After catching my breath, I tried to make the rest of the climb on my own. Could not do it, kept falling over, losing twice the distance I had climbed with every attempt. Not all was lost, it turns out the Dory boats were landing, and I had an awesome vantage point. From my newly acquired perch These boats drive across the serf, and beach them selves. I wondered how they could ever get the boat on the trailed from here. The trailer tips like a dump truck, the boat, is then cranked via a winch on to the trailer. I wanted to know what they were doing out on their boats. The picture revealed crab rings, I am guessing they try to catch crabs while fishing. I turned off the zoom lens on the camera, to see what it would be like to take the Dory photos without an optical zoom. Yes, Virginia, Optical Zoom does do something. After preponderance of the evidence, being that my kids are now at the bottom of the dune. I decided it was no longer worth the severe pain and suffering to go to the top of the dune. Thus rolled down to the tide pools. We saw our first living jelly fish in the wild. Holly and Neva enjoying the ambiance of the sea. Neva goes out to the end of the world to take look over the edge. This a pretty picture of nothing Sarah and Alana are out exploring the tide pools. Sarah, though is full of her normal manic energy. A dawn of a new day, and it means Cheese! Time for a group photo op with our clan in the factory. Even the lights give off that yellow cheesy glow. The news paper says the recession is still alive and well. So we did our part in saving money. Athena and the girls had cheese and crackers for lunch. Kimber and her girls raided the food truck I found Jesus! He is in Pacific city, selling tee shirts. Don’t feal badly Ray Stevens, he did not get taken up in a UFO either. Back down to earth, it is a another beautiful day at the beach with my awesome wife. Life does not get any better than a gorgeous woman, the sun, and the beach. Unless of course it is a remote beach in the tropics known only to the two of us. This island is for the birds There was an arch over this V last time I was here. No idea, where it went. We decided to look for the remains of the arch. The ocean was coming up quickly, and we decided to get out before someone had to look for our remains. Athena is hard at work editing our blog “The Death Of a Christian Nation.” It is only about 100 pages long. Again a sign that we might be manic at times. Thought for the day, If the world looks to you like it does to me, much like this photo. Should we really drive 60mph at night?
