Sometimes, what lies ahead can be a bit hazy- often the future is bright with blue skies, sometimes the future only looks that way. Today, sand being carried along by high winds is obscuring our vision as we walk down the beach along the Seaside promenade.

Looks like we are trying to be a miserable version of California. – The future can wait.

We got to the Peter Iredale, just behind the military forts. John surprised us with a visit for a few days.

You know the mafia occasionally buys a team member lead boots and takes them deep sea fishing. In the Marine Corp, under new leadership taking its mantra from Chicago, believes in group reward, and group punishment. The troop transport in this picture is going fishing.

Back to the sunken ship! Here we are standing mid-ship looking at the bow.

Holly is sitting on the stern, there is not much above the sand right now.

We are headed to main quarters of the military fortress of the Pacific, from 1914 until it was decided we had no enemies.

This is where they sacrificed spies to the great God of Washington DC Herbert Hoover ,who would soon take office just 8 short months before the stock market crash of 1929. Did we not catch enough spies??? to appease the Stock Gods? Sarah is attempting to detect any left over energy.

Holly has a look on her face that tells me to be afraid. Now that she has a boyfriend, maybe only have half as much to fear.

Athena and I are manning the lookout, looking for any possible threats. We used to see the ocean from here, and scout enemy ships and beach invasions. The Dunes and the trees have grown up obscuring nearly everything.

The enemy, can still be spotted from this post, but today, the enemy looks very different.

Our playground looks like it needs sanded and repainted. Maybe pink with blue and white flowers would be nice a nice camo for the Northwest.

I found a skunk on the beach, and carefully took a picture of it from a great distance.

We are now standing on the edge of the Columbia river being careful not to get any of it on us.

I was thinking it would fun to own a fishing boat, maybe the fishing would make it so I did not have to miss what my other boat caused me to miss.

Maybe, I’ll create a mission statement, draw up a plan, then try to get a loan to get one these snazzy fishing poles. I found the hand writing in the sand. I am not sure what it says though. I know it is important, and possibly leading up to something scary.

Well, hand writing will be hand writing, so I’ll ignore it and go visit the Astoria Column. (Warning the bloodsuckers have found the column. it was free, then it went to a dollar, and today, they have the nerve to charge two dollars. They say it is for paint. They ruined it when they painted it last time and caused it to be dedicated to more than John Jacod Aster. They added Robert Grey and Meriwether Lewis. If they graffiti the tower any further, I hope the add my name. Even if it is just on the nemesis wall.)

The kids climbed it in just a few minutes. Athena stayed at the bottom to keep me from falling off my shoes.

The tower is rather tall.

I had to take a picture of the can in Taco Bell. It is bigger than my house. It has a urinal that is behind me, my back is up to it, and its not even wet. I really hate it guys when you leave the lid up. When we are not using the urinal, using the restroom in the dark, or transferring from a chair to the toilet falling in is eminent. It is a good thing these toilets are not Costco size.

Well, after finding out I am likely to be a father in law in rather short to one of these kids, and taking a spill in the Taco Bell its time for a walk in the park. Here we are standing over the Tualatin River, the water is primarily treated water from places like the room in the photo above which is recycled into a beautiful river running through a town near you. Treatment plants get rid of your by products, and redistribute them into tributaries through out your area allowing for fresh water, fresh fish and fresh vegetables to be brought to your table.

We got a new and awesome camp site in Manning, Oregon at LL Stub Stewart. They rake the site, the sites have 50A, water, Sewer and enough space for a baseball team. We are living it up!

The disc golf though is in the woods. This seems really odd how do you play it in the trees?

The day we have been waiting for has finally arrived. Holly gets her surgery and the procedure goes well. We will get her biopsies back in two weeks, but we are hopeful that all will be fine. Dornbecker is a nice place, I slept in the waiting room and watched the sun come up, and found it to be be very nice. Holly’s treatment was interesting in just how well they tried to utilize the time, but she was left confused, and a few messy accidents occurred due to speed. Money drives everything these days as Holly and John are finding out with their job search and finding a place to live. I am beginning to understand why men in their mid forties have heart failure and go bald.
