We went out one last time to take a few parting photos of this fair city. That’s right! Boston is “Our Fair City” Vegas hardly compares in historical significance to Boston. Vegas is a lot more a kin to the amusement park that Pinocchio did time in as he watched all his friends turn into animals. It does not take long to find many elephants running through town, disguised as the democratic national symbol. To be a part of all this wicked fun, we had to find parking!
I found parking on the top of the MGM Grand and got that wonderful view of the first green lawn we has seen in over a month. I was so excited that I bolted straight for a pitching wedge and a TP black. I was just sure I could drop a ball on the green from here. Only, I had neither with me.
We stepped out of the MGM, and landed right square in New York. We were hungry!
That is one huge monolith of jelly beans.
I am married, so I had to settle for Pizza for dinner rather than a Jelly bean liberty thing.
Outdoor New York Style Dining indoors. – The piano was so loud you could not hear your self thinking about how to get out of here.
The brooklyn bridge is closed due to drought.
Everything is high and dry, the city asked all the casino’s to shut their water features down. New York New York is the only one that complied.
Moving sidewalks that go down hill fast
Weird writing on the wall. I remembered the Bible story about the writing on the wall. It did not end well, so we left!
Maybe we should have thought about where we are going, we went down a hall, through a cave, down some steps and ended up in this really warm place with strange flowers.
These flowers are sticking out their tongues at us.
We wanted to see the pools at Mandalay Place only we are behind the hotel, and can’t get in this way. The good thing is, we are by ourselves.
We found the pools, made up of fossilized elephants. They were likely like Pinocchio’s friends and partied just a little too long. We did not get to see the Mandalay Beach, shark tank, or anything else it was all closed by 6pm. We really need to spend less time lost.
Heading back to the car, we pass by the Excalibur again. The castle does not look very defensible, It is lit up better than the airport, and doors are wide open
Good night New York
We did find one guard at the Excalibur
The Excalibur will be safe, it is being guarded by the awesome threesome
dweek traffic on Sahara Blvd.
We found Atlas. After he shrugged, he placed in the MGM rain forest cafe.
A band playing Led Zeppelin so loudly that you can not possibly tell if they knew what they were doing.
With the Indian casinos around the country, this sign pretty much sums up what Las Vegas is all about. For us, it primarily a refuel, resupply, rv repair, and rest stop between the Arizona and California; but continues losing its appeal.
Holly and Wife are having a good time, watching all the college kids make fools of themselves.
It getting warm, and Sarah knows what to do
Well it is getting too hot for our taste, so tomorrow morning we head to another big city in a big metro area. Hope we get there…. Hasta La Vista Las Vegas Good evening and Good Night
