Lava piles on the North Side of the freeway. There were many burn marks in the asphalt.

We reach Quartsite, I am tired and want to put in for the night. Athena and the girls vote we push on to YUMA.

This guy looked like he wanted to land on our rig! Flew right over the top of us, and did not make a sound. Completely silent, how did he do that?

We found Yuma to be in hospitable and headed east on 8. Only two parks allow people under 55, one was owned by Indians at $60 a night. The other on the Colorado river at $100 a night. So we said the heck with Arizona, it is on to California.

Wow, it was 105 degrees and dry a few minutes ago, now the road is gone! These mountains are tall. If anyone offers you change, just say no!

We arrive at our destination city El Cajon. Better than YUMA by a lot! Sales tax is lower too. Just don't buy fuel in California! Cajon means drawer. El Cajones in slang can mean a set of 2 peices of flesh in the anatomy of the male species. Most, deny this and say it is plainly the plural of drawer. El Cojones would certainly be a more romantically sounding name for the city. Fortunately for California I will work hard to never live here due its politics, taxes, and fees. Who needs burglers when you have the California governemnt. So I will never serve on the El Cajon city council and seek to change its name to something more manly. Maybe all you residents might think about the new name. It's mighty studly don't you think?

We arrive in Pio Pico TT Jamul, ca. Athena sits down to work. The internet is terrible, and the cell service is worse yet, even on our boosters! The park is nice, so we can't complain.

Arizona is a fun state to visit, we loved Sedona, Williams, and Flag Staff.Arizona is not friendly to young RV’ers on the southern routes. KOA, is

really the only place to stay that is marginally affordable. We are thankful for

Verde Valley Thousand Trails park. Without them, seeing what we saw of

Arizona, would have been fiscally impossible for us. To others who want

see Arizona and are under 55 years of age, consider your self age impaired.

Leave the RV in the nearest storage facility and hotel it, it will save you

effort and maybe even money, When it comes to RV’ing as a young family,

state is for the birds. Of the 44 states we have visited, this one is the

worst for the younger sect of tourist. Fortunately, there are 49 other states

that are happy to see our tourism dollars. Arizona is cool, but since I am

spoiled and do not boon dock, it will mostly be a pass through state for us.

not boondock

Have a good evening and good night!
